I am overwhelmed with joy and hope about all the possibilities this nation has for it's citizens. I became a naturalized US Citizen November 2007, qualifying me to participate in this history making election. I always believed that America would have a President of color, but perhaps more in my children's generation. Today, in my lifetime, an African American president will be set in office. Obama has run his campaign with integrity and passion. This is a man who has embraced every part of his diverse heritage and not tried to appear 'white' in order to be accepted by the majority. He has been an authentic person that I can fully identify with. Obama has a hard job ahead of him, with the economy, war in Iraq, fear of terrorism and even the negative attacks by my fellow Christian brethren here in the US. This is one thing I know, God is in control. He has raised Barack Obama up for such a time as this. We will pray for him and support him so that he gets the work done.
