Some Recommendations on How to avoid Exposure to BPA

The Washington Post Article listed the following ways to avoid exposure to BPA

Plastics2

  • Look for BPA-free toys, baby bottles and containers.
  • Reduce your use of canned food; eat fresh or frozen foods instead. Bisphenol A has been found in the lining of canned food tins.
  • If you use hard polycarbonate plastics (Nalgene bottles, baby bottles, sippy cups), do not heat them or use them for warm or hot liquids. Heating plastics to high temperatures may promote the leaching of chemicals out of containers and into the food or liquid they hold. Freezing plastics poses no such risk.
  • Instead of polycarbonate and PVC plastics, consider using alternatives such as polyethylene plastic -- also labeled as PETE or recycling code #1, #2 (HDPE) and #4 (LDPE). Polypropylene (recycling code #5, or PP) is also considered a safe choice. Recycling code #7 may mean the product contains BPA.
  • Do not wash polycarbonate plastic containers in the dishwasher with harsh detergents.

Shea Radiance Introduces Black Soap -Alata Samina

An Incredibly Exotic Cleansing Bar  -Natural, Organic Vegan Black Soap from West Africa

It is with much joy that I write this post about our new line of Black Soaps recently received from our producers in Ghana. The Alata Samina black soap is a little different from other black soaps because it is light brown instead of dark in color. The lighter color color can be attributed to the ingredients and the production process.

Why We Love Alata Samina
What I love about this soap is is the incredible rich lather it produces. It leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean.  I recommend slathering some rich shea butter based cream after bathing with this soap to complete the luxurious experience.

I have large Bath size bars available at Shea Radiance retail store. If you need bulk quantities check out Shea Radiance Supplies.

The Shea Radiance Difference - Our Customers

They say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. This is what some of our customers have to say about our products.

Shea Radiance

Viva Woman -  Japan
Application is easy.  I only need to dig a dime size scoop each time to my palm and rub the melting butter into a smooth creamy oil before applying on to my body.  It feels oily on first contact but because this is premium grade Shea Butter, the oil penetrates very quickly leaving my skin feeling smooth, soft and supple.  For someone who is rather lazy when it comes to my body, I’ve been using this rather consistently for a few days and I dare say I’ve noticed an improvement to a scaly patch on my left shoulder.

Jenn
For three days now I have been using the Shea butter on my elbows, legs and feet. After two applications of it the first night, I noticed an immediate improvement on my elbows. By the next afternoon my legs were much smoother and definitely more moisturized, and by today both my husband and I noticed a big difference with my feet! :)

Nancy - Amsterdam
We, my family and I, all love your Shea creams. We dont take a little scoop but use it by taking a handful of it. The pure Shea I use for my son and daughter. They have been suffering from ecxema since they were babies. The Shea seems to help them. So, please dont stop making it!!!

The Shea Radiance Difference - Our Products

Personalcare250

Shea Radiance is a luxury bath and body company specializing in Shea Butter formulations designed to nourish & revitalize the skin. Where African beauty ritual meets Western Aromatherapy and Far Eastern herbal blends. We choose natural butters and oils and scent with pure essential oils that provide their own unique benefits. All our ingredients work in synergy to function well, look appealing and provide real results.

Sources
We use pure unrefined Shea butter as the foundation for most of our products. All our products are made with natural and organic ingredients that come from renewable and sustainable sources in Africa and beyond.

The Shea Radiance Difference

If you are not used to all natural products you may find Shea butter and even our whipped Shea butters a little too rich in oils. Our whipped butters are more than 50% pure unrefined Shea butter combined with other oils like Rice Bran Oil, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba, Glycerin, Wheat Germ Oil, Vitamin E and Pure Essential Oils. As you can see from the ingredient list, there is nothing but 100% pure hydrating oils and glycerin as a natural humectant.

Most people are used to body butters they get from the drug store or the large bath and body stores. Even though they claim to be Shea body butter, there is very little Shea and a whole lot of filler. Our whipped butters do take some getting used to because they are the real thing. One thing that does get people hooked is the almost immediate benefit they notice in their skin.
