Expanding the Global Market for African Shea

USAID/West African Trade Hub had a strong showing of African producers represented at the Cosmetic Scientist Show, held in Edison New Jersey from May 11th to May 12th. This show is aimed at cosmetic chemists and formulators of beauty products of multinational cosmetic firms.

In our quest to expand the global market for shea, it is important to show skincare manufacturers the potential of shea butter and how it can be of benefit to the end user. Many of us believe that shea butter is a viable alternative to petroleum based emollients that are currently used by some cosmetic manufacturers.
